There is an opportunity to update this well-maintained property into a long-term family home. Position and northern orientation will appeal to those seeking a liveable home they can improve over time. The interior supports current floorplan expectations - it has good proportions and ample accommodation within an open-plan flow. But it will require potential buyers to have vision. The exterior is an understated contemporary style and, starting with a new colour scheme, could be brought into the 21st century. The land size is the key issue here, as this is a big home and garage with a smaller yard. Some may want to start again and rebuild, although busy families may prefer the low-maintenance yard and take advantage of the proximity to beach and shops. An alternative may be to square off the kitchen/family area to create an alfresco area in a larger backyard space. This is an often under-rated pocket of Brighton that, in 2012, has been underperforming (read - not many sales), so buyers wanting to rebuild may be taking a bigger risk than families looking for a long term home.
