Although this went better than some thought it would, an overall toughish day for Iain Carmichael and an even tougher day for many slightly surprised auctioneers across Melbourne who were performing to less enthusiastic bidders than a fortnight ago.

"Certainly has WOW.   Detail to original period features at the front of the house and a classic facade, lead to a very modern and functional kitchen/family room. Clerestry windows to three sides in the family room provide an abundance of light. Parent's need not venture downstairs - unless to eat!  Something I'm sure teenage children would also love! Issue here - Hampton Street.  Busy road, carrying regular heavy traffic.  Noise could also be a problem if a family of light sleepers. Appeal here, whilst compromising on the street location, is the already done family home.  And the question you need to ask yourself -  is this an emotional buy or a financial buy?"
