Nestled close to a bend in the Yarra River, and not far from St Catherine's and St Kevin's, this brick townhouse gets a near-full sheet of green ticks for its neighbours and superior position. The home does sit a bit low, and the land size is not huge and slopes away, which makes for a steep descent to the garage below. However, for a couple (with perhaps an older child in tow), there is a lot to like about the accommodation inside. The basement area feels like a great hideaway spot, and would make a good haven for a late-teen plus friends. Good light from the clever vertical windows really brightens the first floor area, where there is a good-size master bedroom and ample storage for a couple. This allows some flexibility for the front room up the top to be used for out-of-town visitors, or perhaps as a study/home office. The large bathroom contains laundry facilities, and while we prefer a separate laundry with outside access, you can see how it works for this floorplan, so it’s not a deal-breaker. The slope means there are plenty of steps to contend with, including fifteen from the ground floor exit until you reach a pleasant entertainment and pool area. The main rooms, classy black kitchen and well-lit living area take in commanding views to the north. Overall, this is a pleasant-feeling home which has been cleverly styled; it will likely appeal to couples or smaller families wanting easy access to the freeway for travel to the city and university, or proximity to good schools with a prestigious address.
