The builder/architect of 4 Melville is a magician and if you can afford to have a look and possibly buy it - then you should. When I say magician, go and have a look at Google streetview and see what was there before and then go to an OFI and see what has been created now. If they were doing Grand Designs in Hawthorn, then they should have covered the build on this one. I should confess I am speaking through tears having been the underbidder (for a client) on next door's No 6 also done by the same builder/developer - although a different offering.

Why this home really works for me is lots of things and because of those things I overlook the south facing rear, the street quality, the irregular block shape, the lack of a second living space (hence the average rating).

Firstly one of the wow's - I really like the park feel both inside and out - that is you feel like you are in the garden when you are inside and Smart Reserve at the rear is like an extended backyard when you are outside. Next feature that really does it for me is the master bedroom set up - its indulgent, but boy is it good and its best you really just go and have a look at the spacial and flow plusses it has - many of us would enjoy waking up in this space. One of the swishiest ensuites I have seen. I also love the living area and the multiple outdoor courtyards. Downstairs is another bedroom and ensuites - it all works for me. Love it - this is all about the emotion and hey emotion is important we are alive for a short time.

Very well conceived and built home - hats off to the architect and builder. An otherwise awkward block really has been well used, and the views on to Smart Street reserve are special. I really liked the glass wall to the master bedroom and approach to the ensuite. Yes it is edgy but I think this house will age well and the buyer will really enjoy living here.
