At the open for inspection I attended, nearly everyone was drawn to the back yard. This is like a mini adventure park, with so much space for kids to play the way kids used to play, and so cleverly designed to make the best use of the land overlooking parkland and Latrobe Golf Club. The vista is truly captivating and very peaceful. It feels like you could be in the middle of the country, as is the case with so many other homes along this far-reaching stretch of parkland that winds along the Yarra. The property itself is small but practical. So often we visit smaller homes with awkward floor plans, but this is well-designed and both living spaces access the deck, which also enjoys the parkland outlook. The property does face to the south at the rear which of course minimises light, however what you lose in light is made up for by the vista. The home has retained much of its originality and could be ready for an upgrade to the kitchen and bathrooms. The ceiling heights downstairs are lovely and high; those upstairs, however, are low as the bedrooms and bathroom have been built into the roof space. 34 Lucerne is enchanting, and it stimulates the mind to consider what a delightful lifestyle this could be for a young family.
