This red brick semi-detached home sits on the edge of the coveted Gascoigne Estate. It’s on the preferred side of the pair, away from the corner of Deakin and Gillman. All the windows run along the northern side of the property, making the most of available sunlight. Many of the elements a downsizer couple or a young family require for a functioning household are in place. At the back, a convenient laundry opens to the outside, and that’s a plus. The bathroom is a bit away from the main bedrooms, as is the third bedroom beyond. This third bedroom is also quite tight, although it adequately takes a cot and a change table. A narrow staircase leads to a studio, and a neat surprise – some clever roof storage readily accessible via a waist-high door. I liked this handy little feature, and a family will definitely find it a useful hideaway for possessions. The sitting and dining areas will get growing pains with time, but relief does come via the kitchen that flows out neatly onto a well-landscaped courtyard and provides for easy serving to the outdoor dining area and for keeping an eye on junior as they have a run about. Bigger kids will need to hop down to Central Park, as this courtyard is not overly large. There is no obvious maintenance required to the home and the needs of a young family in particula, could be quite comfortably met by all the property's basics and a good location.
