Although this went better than some thought it would, an overall toughish day for Iain Carmichael and an even tougher day for many slightly surprised auctioneers across Melbourne who were performing to less enthusiastic bidders than a fortnight ago.

"This house has been immaculately renovated, with all the bells and whistles;  beautiful formal living and dining rooms, and a large open plan kitchen/family area which still manages to receive a good amount of natural light, considering the rear of the property faces south. The swimming pool has a window built into the shell of it, so that when you are in the cellar you look straight into the pool! The children have their own floor upstairs, with a huge rumpus room that has views to the tops of the city sky scrapers. Some may be a little concerned that the garage doesn't have direct access to the house and is positioned in the rear garden, but with electric front gates security shouldn't be a problem. And to top it all off, the Beach is is only 6 houses from the front door.  What more could you ask for?"
